Week 10: Bishop Watterson

”Finale’ in Columbus”

This is the final meeting with another friendly foe. Columbus Bishop Watterson has been on the schedule for 6 years now and this will be the final game of the series. Let’s go out with a bang!

The final week of the regular season is upon us already. It seems we were just getting excited about the August scrimmages and the season to come. Time truly flies when you’re having fun and the Cardinals, thus far, are doing just that….having fun. When the schedule was announced for the 2009 season, many worried that it would be a very demanding one. It has been all that and more, but these young men have answered every question and every challenge put to them! There is one more question to be answered in the regular season and that is, do we finish the series with the powerful Eagles of Bishop Watterson ahead 5 games to 1…or do we have to settle with a 4 games to 2 series ending?

Hagley Field is natural grass (if there’s any left this time of year), so expect a slow track Friday night. The Cards will need to continue to hold onto the pigskin and create turnovers on defense to come away victorious. Our only loss in the series was in Columbus on a muddy night in 2005 by a score of 38 to 20. The Eagles are very strong again this season and we need to bring the “A” game to Capital City!

It’s crunch time gentlemen….let’s see who wants it more!

This week is Mission #10. The Watterson Eagles! Take care of business!

WE ARE MOONEY –----- they are not!

Always,
The Rock
